First pair of Tennis Shoes!

Janie Ann has PLENTY of "girly" shoes...black Mary Janes, Orange/white polka dot Mary Janes, brown Mary Janes, blue loafers, pink loafers, boots, pink sparkly TOMS...but she hasn't had any tennis shoes! I have tried and tried to convince her daddy that she needed some Gray or Pink New Balances, but with a price of $45 dollars (or close to it) for some shoes that she will barely wear- I have been unsuccessful in my begging! (Hence- the reason Gigi had to purchase the TOMS for Christmas!) But tonight while at Target (my FAVORITE store EVER) we went through the shoe section to see if we could find her some new boots and while they didn't have any boots, they did have the super cute tennis shoes and for a GREAT price! Of course I had to try them on her as soon as I could and she wore them the rest of the night!

I tried to get her in the picture and she was not having it!

Therefore we only have pictures of the shoes!! Can you tell she might be a little bolegged?

Dress up!

Every little girl LOVES to play dress up...right?? YES! The other night I was putting up some of Janie Ann's clothes in her closet and we have some of her dresses that we want to keep hanging in the back and I decided that Janie Ann wanted to play dress up! ;) So I pulled out her Easter dress from last year and put it on her!

She didn't want to take it off! She is getting SO big! Seth took her to the doctor on Monday and she weighed 24 lbs and was 32 inches tall! We go back next month for her 15 month shots and we will get a growth chart to compare her height to other kiddos her age!

What do you do at 3 AM?

Well- when you are on a steroid and cough syrup you become CRAZY and keep your parents up from midnight until 6 AM! Janie Ann had a ROUGH night Tuesday night! I got home from class around 10 and Seth already had Janie Ann asleep and we were both exhausted and ready for bed. We got in the bed and fell asleep for a nice long nights sleep....so we thought! At midnight we hear Janie Ann crying/screaming- it was pitiful. She was coughing uncontrollably and we weren't sure if we should just let her cry herself back to sleep or go get her- give her more medicine, rock her back to sleep and lay her down. Of course, after not seeing her all day- I HAD to go get her and soothe her back to sleep...little did I know that she would not/could not be soothed back to sleep that night. After giving her some more cough syrup and rocking for 45 minutes, her daddy switched out with me and he rocked her until 2:30 am. At that point we switched again...thinking surely she can't make it much longer! At 3:00 she wanted a "bite" and ate an entire bowl of Puffs- quickly- and from there she wanted to RUN! So I put her down in the playroom thinking, "I will let her play for a little while and THAT will make her tired"...WRONG! She ran and ran and ran- around the playroom, living room, down the hall- screaming, laughing, screaming, whining...pure craziness! She FINALLY went to sleep around 5:45-6:00 am. Seth and I neither had any sleep and both called in because there was no way we could send her to MeMaw's and us survive at work- we talked to the doctor and decided that it was cough syrup that was making her so wild and so we haven't given it to her again and we have had 1 night of good sleep- about to go for night #2!

If you notice- nothing is on the shelves where it belongs and all the toys are piled up where she threw them! We still haven't cleaned up the mess! :)

First Haricut!

Janie Ann was a PRO! She never got upset or anything! Ami did a wonderful job trimming up the back of her hair to make it even, and hopefully help it grow all at the same length! It did take some convincing her daddy to let us trim it, but they both did a great job!

NATIONAL CHAMPS!

Let's start off with our last trip....to Arizona! Why in the world did we go to Arizona?? Glendale, AZ to be exact! See, there is this thing called the BCS National Championship game that our Auburn Tigers were participating in! So of course we had to go watch them!! We enjoyed our time- we started out with a flight from Nashville to Vegas and spent 2 nights in Vegas before driving over to Glendale (approx. 4.5 hour drive)- a drive with NOTHING to see but some dirt, rocks and mountains in the background. It was a gorgeous drive, but if you had to potty or use the phone, you were out of luck! There wasn't anything you could hide behind if it was an emergency!!

When we finally arrived in Glendale- we were all starving. The stadium was not prepared for the number of people that arrived to tailgate/enjoy the outside activities- they had no vendors for food, very limited bathrooms and only one area (that we could find) selling shirts, hats and programs. So we started walking looking for food...we found a little bar area that was PACKED, but it was our only hope! We went in and ordered some drinks but food was going to be an 1.5 wait- so we didn't order anything, but did run into a guy named Charles Barkley! This placed was PACKED and was kind enough to walk around and take pictures with fans. He went upstairs...and we followed...he was burning up and told his guide that he needed a break, and headed down the stairs- the stairs we strategically placed ourselves on because we knew he would have to come down at some point! He walked past me, touched my arm and said "War Eagle"- probably ONE of the best parts of the day- (not the best part, though!). We followed him back downstairs (we weren't stalking at this point- we were trying to get out!). My mom did follow him into the bar area and was able to get her picture made with him- pretty awesome!

Then, it was time to go into the game...I'm not going to give many details here, but it was probably the fastest paced game I have ever been a part of. Before we knew it- it was half time and we hadn't even sat down in our seats! We took half-time to relax in our seats and prepare for the 2nd half! The 2nd half didn't go by as quickly as the first, but we still didn't sit down at all!! We had a blast watching our Auburn Tigers become NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!! It is definitely a trip that we will remember for a long, long time!

So glad we found someone that could take our picture- and do a good job!

I don't think I mentioned- we went to Vegas with Cole and Rachel Whiteard and my mom met us out there! We had a blast and I hope that we get to go back real soon (to Vegas AND the National Championship game!)!! Check out my facebook profile for more pictures from Vegas and the game!!

I can JUMP!

Janie Ann had a tutorial on Sunday from her cousin Harrison on how to jump! Harrison didn't understand why she couldn't get off the ground- but she thought she was jumping HIGH! This video isn't great quality, but I did it last night from the computer! And please excuse all the background talking!

It's been a while!

Well, Christmas 2010 has come and gone and I haven't posted one thing! We had a wonderful Holiday season! It started the first weekend in December and for Seth and I- it won't end until January 11th!

Let's start at the beginning...

The first weekend in December Janie Ann and I attended the 2nd Annual Cookie Swap at Rosalyn's house in B'ham. Where was Seth? Him and my dad were in ATL at the SEC Championship game! Janie Ann and I had a great time with everyone in B'ham and arrived home in time to watch the game and go to Toomers with Aunt Lisa, Uncle Robert and Maggie! Fun was had all around!!

The second weekend in December was Seth's 27th birthday and we also had Christmas with his sisters/brother-in-laws and parents. Because there are 6 kids we have started (last year) eating together and opening presents before the big family gathering because, #1- Seth and I purchase matching PJ's for them to wear Christmas Eve and then #2- because on Christmas Eve with the entire family they already get so much without our gifts it would take forever and presents would be lost!! So, Friday night we did that and then Saturday was Seth's birthday and we went to Provino's to eanjoy his free meal!! Sunday night was RCBC's annual Christmas Caroling and chili dinner. We stayed back and prepared the meal while others went out to spread Christmas joy!

Then the third weekend arrived...we all headed to B'ham on Saturday (us- after a visit to see Dr. BB) to go to the McWane Center to have cookies with Santa and watch the Polar Express on the IMax! Cookies with Santa went well...but that was about all! :( The Polar Express movie did not work properly and according to the VP of the McWane Center- they couldn't just stop the movie and try again- they had to play the entire thing and try again...so we went through the Center and enjoyed some trains and a winter wonderland (that was SUPER HOT- not wintry at all!), we got to get our picture Santa (Janie Ann HATED him)- David has them on his camera and I'm hoping to get a copy soon! Then we all headed back to the theatre for round 2- another fail! We got free tickets to return to any movie and the older cousins went back the following Tuesday to watch it and they said it was WONDERFUL! So, after we left the McWane center- I headed to Prattville to stay with the Shedd's so that I could take the GRE on Sunday morning. (I passed and I'm now a graduate student at Auburn University!)

Then Monday rolled around- and so did the stomach bug! I had a very mild case considering what most of our family encountered! But Monday Seth and Paden headed to B'ham to pick mom up from the airport and I was feeling better by Tuesday. On Tuesday we went to see Harrison and Clark in their Christmas program and then Seth got the dreaded stomach virus...along with David! By Wednesday everyone was well and we prepared for the Holiday craziness to begin!!

Christmas Eve started off with the annual Christmas Eve breakfast at The McCreight's house! Then to Memaw's to bake cookies for Santa! I think more cookie dough was eaten than baked, but the babies had a great time!! Then, Seth, Janie Ann and I went home (with mom) and took a nap to prepare for that night at The Clark's! Janie Ann got so much stuff and Santa even left Seth and I a gift (Auburn fleece blanket, which is WONDERFUL! And a cute Auburn "I love the Tigers" ornament!). Then we headed home and prepared for Santa to make his arrival! It didn't take long for Janie Ann long to go to sleep, even though she didn't understand the whole, "Santa Claus is coming- I need to go to sleep". But we all went to bed and Santa did indeed arrive! It was so much fun watching her face on Christmas morning walk into the living room full of gifts. I really can't wait until next year when she understands the concept of "Ho-Ho" coming!! After we finished seeing everything Santa brought Janie Ann we loaded up the car and headed to the Hunter household for Brunch. Then, we had a full day of Christmas gatherings! Mamaw Parker's at lunch and Papaw Goss' at dinner!! By time we got home everyone was exhausted and we were excited to have the 26th to stay at home and enjoy the toys!

Then yesterday, Monday the 27th, Paden, Janie Ann and I took mom back to B'ham to the airport! It was sad, but not too sad because Seth and I will see her again in approx. 2 weeks! Why you ask? She is meeting us in VEGAS- a pit stop on our way to Glenndale, AZ!! Yep, that's right- we will be going to the National Championship game!!!! I'm so excited! Seth and I will be married for 5 years in June and this is our Christmas/Anniversary gift to each other! We will be going with the Whiteard's- probably won't post again until we return from that trip!! (I will post more pictures, soon).
