Being Slack...

So, I haven't posted in a while, and I do appoligize, but you see we have been VERY busy... MOVING!!! We stayed our first night in the house on Saturday night- and boy was it QUIET!!! Our television in the bedroom isn't quite working (something with the Satellite)- so Seth had some trouble going to sleep because it was so quiet. I, on the other hand, did not! I was out by 10:00!! Today- Tuesday March 31st- we had our telephone line ran and we have internet now! If you don't know where Daviston is located you have no idea how valuable a home phone and internet can be! We DO have DSL internet, which I was surprised to find out, and it is very quick considering the fact that it is new to the area!! It takes some time for pictures to load, but that could be weather related, too. Also, Seth and I have been driving to work for the past 2 days. It really isn't that bad. This morning I DID NOT want to get out of bed, but didn't have the option to wait until 7:00, because we have to leave no later than 6:45 every morning! I can't wait for Saturday so that I can sleep in! 

Anyways! My mom will be coming home in about 2 weeks- I can't wait to see her!! She hasn't seen the house yet, so I am very excited to show off what Seth and I have worked hard to put together. (Hopefully it will be clean by time she gets here!!) I will try to keep the blog updated more now since we have internet. I will be posting pictures of  Kings new home area (he's not allowed in the house anymore, I just can't let his big self walk all over my new floors!! :( ) and how Cadillac likes his new home! Until then...

FINALLY! Here they are- ENJOY!!

The pictures go from the living room, to the dining room, to the study, then the bedroom and finally a picture of a door that is hung and has a door knob!! It's getting so close to us finally living there, I can't wait!!

Well, I have sat down tonight to  upload some pictures of our furniture, BUT I can't find my card reader.......

In other news though, we had to go back to work today after a week of spring break- while it was hard to get up and go, there is only a few short weeks left in the school year! It's great to get a spring break every year AND get the summers off- what other career do you get that? Anyways- check out the blog tomorrow- I PROMISE that there will be pictures!! 

FURNITURE!!

Our furniture came yesterday and it looks GREAT!!! I will take pictures soon and post them- it did not even cross my mind yesterday to take pictures!! We are beginning to unpack all the boxes and put our furniture from storage up! It is really beginning to look like our house! I am so excited and I can't wait until I get pictures!! 

I also talked to mom earlier- she has purchased our comforter and stuff, she will be bringing it home with her when she comes!! I can't wait to see her and the comforter! Also while she is at home she will be making us some curtains for the living room and dining room! I am so excited and can't wait to go pick out the fabric! 

Well, I'm about to get ready for Abbie Prices' wedding- hopefully next post will have pics! Until then...

Final Stages!!

All of the appliances are in!! They look great- we are waiting on the electrician to come back and finish everything that he has to do and we will be ready! Seth finished installing all of the shelves today in all of the closets and they look GREAT! Tomorow or Thursday Seth and Josh are going to begin clearing out our storage shed and moving stuff in!! Our furniture from Lazy Boy s going to be delivered next week and hopefully we can do our final walk- through soon!!! I will post pictures of the appliances soon!!

Kitchen and more!

Finally!! The kitchen is complete! Now we are just waiting on the appliances, which are being delivered on Tuesday! It's finally taking shape and looking great! Jacob came down on Friday- he didn't arrive until later, so we met for dinner and then just hung out until Saturday morning. Then, Saturday around 8:30 Jacob and Seth headed to the house to begin putting in all the granite and sinks!

This is the 1/2 bath- Jacob had basically free range to design whatever he wanted to in here- and this is what he came up with. I love it!! *MOM*-  you have a new job- find a unique picture to go in the 1/2 bath...Seth was thinking something along the lines of a dragon... 

Here is the kitchen with the handles installed! It looks great and I can't wait to see my appliances in there! Mr. Mitchell- the plumber- is going to come in Monday and Tuesday and finish everything up, so I will post more pictures Tuesday or Wednesday!!

Tomorrow- Monday is our first full day of Spring Break. I will be hanging out with Shelly, Clark and the twins, Georgia and Gamble while Seth is at the house working- I need a break from working at the house, so I figured I would go help with the little ones!! I'm sure I will be exhausted from playing with Clark all day, but I can't wait!! 

Customs?

Well- it's the weekend- FINALLY!! We only have 5 more school days until spring break begins and everyone is ready for it around school!! The kids have spring fever like crazy at the Junior High!! I just need a break!! As for the house...well, our granite still hasn't been delivered to Jacob yet so that he could get them ready for installation, the granite is currently stuck in customs. Yes, customs. Now, Seth has had an experience with customs when he came back from China with David, but granite?? Jacob is hoping to get it next week so that he can install it next Friday/Saturday! So, we have a little delay, but nothing bad! Seth has completed installing the shelves in the master bedroom, and they look great- I can't wait to actually be able to use it!! Over the weekend we have a lot on our list to do...starting with tonight! 

Tonight we met Seth's sister, Sheena, and her husband, Scott, with their 2 babies- Harrison and Harper. Harrison's birthday is March 11th, tomorrow is his birthday party so they came to Auburn so that Harrison could pick out his birthday present. For about 3 weeks Harrison has been telling me that he wants a blue turtle- so we took him to Petco tonight to pick out so fish (no blue turtles!!). He picked out 2 fish, a dwarf frog, and then an allgy eater. He was so excited!! So, that was tonight, then tomorrow we are going to his party to fly kites, then we are going to work at the house puttind down the quarter round and touching up the molding, then Mr. Billy will be working outside in the yard! Then Sunday, we are going to Birmingham to see our neice and nephew!! Busy , busy weekend!! On top of all that we spring forward an hour Saturday night :(. I am not at all excited about that!! 

Hopefully over the weekend I will take lots of pictures and update soon!! 

Another picture-less update!

Over the past couple of days Seth and I have been working at the house! Seth began working on the closets, hopefully I will have pictures of them tonight when he gets back! I finished chaulking all the nail holes in the living room, foyer, dining room and hallway! My knee (left one) was killing me from climbing up and down the ladder! All of the toliets are also in place and some of the knobs in the shower are installed- not all of them yet, but once installed pictures will be posted! Jacob is hopefully coming back this weekend with the rest of the granite to complete the counter tops- if not this weekend, he will be here next weekend! I can't wait until everyone is done working inside and I can burn all the card-board and being sweeping, mopping and dusting so that I can begin moving furniture in!!

Another update- the TWINS! They are still at UAB, but currently on the 7th floor, which is the last floor before being discharged! They will probably be up there for about 9 more days, according to Shelly. Please continue to say a prayer for them, Shelly and David.
