Last week, Seth and I had to go pick up our tile from R.F. Henry in Montgomery, while we were there we were just going to stop by and look at some furniture places. We pull up furniture on the GPS and go to the first one that was listed- La-Z-Boy/Kincaid. When we entered Mike, the sales associate, greeted us and immediately asked what we were looking for. At our old house, we used a table that his sister, Shelly, didn’t need anymore and we used our old bedroom furniture, so the only purchase we made for our old house was a living room set- couch, 2 chairs, and an entertainment center. So, of course we explained that we needed EVERYTHING- living room, dining room, study, and master bedroom. Mike told us to go look around and pick out some things, then he asked if we had a set of plans or the dimensions of our rooms… luckily, Seth had plans in his truck. We picked out the furniture for the bedroom and dining room- went and got the plans and Mike sat with us for over an hour helping us decide what would fit in each room. Well, Seth and I didn’t have plans of staying or doing any furniture purchasing that day- so we left him with a copy of our plans and phone number. Sunday afternoon, we were in Daviston- I was cleaning my car out and Mike called me to inform me that they were going to be having a private sale on Thursday, could we come Wednesday night to discuss what we would like to purchase and he would figure it up and he would also know the details of the sale by then so he could go ahead and price the furniture and order it for us.
Then, yesterday, Wednesday we picked up Seth’s mom and headed to Montgomery to finalize what we were going to buy. We walked in and knew exactly what we wanted for the bedroom and dining room- that was the easy part… We went with the Laura Ashley Keswick Collection for the Bedroom. We got the platform bed, 2 nightstands, linen closet (my favorite), and the bureau. For the dining room we purchased the dining table (the longer one), 4 side chairs, 2 arm chairs, and the China base & deck. Then came the hard part… the living room couch and chairs, or the 2 couches, or the couch and 2 chairs, or the …and the list went on and on…. Seth and I had already decided that we wanted the couch cushions to be attached to the couch- a little bit easier to maintain, but we didn’t know the style or size that we wanted, little did we know this would be the easy part! We ended up going the with Elliot sofa and love seat , then we went with the Calvin recliner (the difference in the picture- our lever is silver and a little more contemporary) and to finish off the room we chose the Tasha Ottoman. Then came the difficult part… picking out the fabric. See, La-z-boy customizes your couches or ANYTHING with fabric, for the same cost as the couch sitting in the showroom. After approximately 45 minutes we had picked out the fabric for the couch, we stayed with the dark leather for the recliners, and the pillow fabric (YES, a different fabric for the pillows!!). Then Mike helped us decide on a rug, but we did not purchase it yet because he is going to come to the house and help us decide what size rug we will need, what in-tables and accessories will go where- they will also help us decide what to hang and where to hang it!! All a complimentary service for purchasing furniture through them!! The best part? It was all reasonably priced (Compared to rooms-to-go or Ashley’s furniture!) , and I feel as though we got better service and a couch that will fit OUR needs- not the stores need!!

Busy week!! This little girl- Clark Maddy- has become a big sister! Gamble and Georgia are both doing great. They are still at UAB, but Seth and I were lucky enough to go up there Wednesday night and we got to hold them!! We will be going back up tomorrow, Sunday, after church. Then this past Friday, our carper was delivered and installed! The master bedroom and guest bedrooms all have the same carpet. Then the bonus room has a berber carpet!
Then, of course to go with the new carpet, everyone needs a new vacuum!
