Happy Anniversary!

WOW! Seth and I have been married for four years now! Time sure goes by quickly when you are having fun!! Here's a little (short) walk down memory lane...

June 24, 2006- our wedding day and possibly the HOTTEST day inside RCBC! But we had tons of family and friends there supporting us!

Then, our first house! We looked for what seemed like FOREVER for the "perfect" house and when we walked into this house on Cumberland Dr. we knew! What we didn't know is how short our time there would be...but it was the perfect first house!

Then approximately a year and a half later we moved out of our first house BACK into the trailor from college (no pictures of that...sorry!) while we built our perfect house in Daviston! At the end of building our house we found out (approx. March 8th) that we would be adding a new bundle of joy to our family! So we built the house just in time!!


For us to welcome Miss Janie Ann Clark into our lives on October 30, 2009. You were so excited and couldn't wait to spoil your little princess!


So while we enjoyed 3 years of just "us" as a married couple (10 total!)- I couldn't think of a better time to expand our family!! So much has changed over the last 4 years- I'm so excited to see what God has in store for us in the next 4 years (and many, many more!)! (Hopefully no buying, selling, building of houses!! :) )

Happy Father's day...

I know that this little girl is one LUCKY little girl to have such an awesome daddy! She loves her daddy so much- I can only imagine how spoiled she is going to be!! Happy FIRST father's day, Seth- we love you so much!!

The rest of the backyard!

I just wanted to updated the blog on the backyard! Seth has been working really hard trying to get it perfect and he is succeeding! Below is a picture of some empty jars that he found in my great-aunt's house...now, what could you do with a bunch of empty jars? Leave it to Seth to figure out something! (not sure why the picture is sideways...) Yep, that is right- hang it up, add sand and a candle and make light! Yes, we have fans with lights on them, but at night the lights are so bright all they do is attract bugs- so Seth came up with this idea- we can have 3 or 4 hanging and if the bugs are really bad we can add citronella candles to them!
Here is the completed gated! I think Seth might add a wheel to it so that it will be easy to open/close-but now we can let the dog out the back and not worry about him running off!

And finally a picture of the completed grass!! It looks SO good out there! I can't wait for fall when we are grilling out and watching some college football on the TV under the porch and all the kids are playing in the backyard!!

A new backyard!!

Seth has done such a GREAT job working on projects around our house. His latest project was our backyard! He wanted to make sure it was perfect for October 30th-Janie Ann's first party! The project began with the fence. Yes, we live in the middle of no-where and really don't need a privacy fence, but with a LOT (3 nieces and 2 nephews, plus Janie Ann-6 kids total) of kids- 4 of which are a year or less apart from each other- we decided it would be nice to have a fenced in backyard so that they can all go outside and play and won't be able to wonder off. Which will be nice once they are all walking, talking and arguing- we can just send them outside!

Well, the fence is complete- before putting the door on the fence Seth wanted to make sure we would have grass...so this is what our yard looked like on Friday morning. Seth woke up early Friday (well, early for summer...8:30) and headed towards Childersburg to pick up this:

4 pallets of sod, freshly cut.

On Friday is was 100+ degrees outside, or so it felt like it with the humidity. Seriously- you walked outside and would start sweating, but Seth was determined to get it done. He attempted to do it earlier in the day, but because of how hot it was he got a little sick...but that didn't stop him. He was back at it that afternoon around 6. Thankfully we had Harrison spending the night so he could help! :)

This is the last picture I took of the night- around 6:30. I then had to entertain Harrison because he got bored really quickly watching/helping Seth. My dad came over about this time to help Seth and he helped for about 1.5 hours and got approximately half the yard laid. At this point, my dad told Seth it would take him 2 days to complete the project...well, Seth was DETERMINED that he would have it complete by Saturday morning...

Around 9- Harrison, Janie Ann and I went to sleep and Seth was STILL working. I'm not sure what time he was complete, but on Saturday morning when I woke up- my once red dirt backyard was GREEN!! It was wonderful. Now Seth has been busy making sure that the yard stays watered and cleaning/organizing the back porch so that it will be ready for the fall!!

First project after the yard was complete? Hanging Janie Ann a swing!! She LOVES it! (You can also see all the green grass in this picture. Once I take a picture of the completed backyard- I will post it.

Summer Time and sewing...?

So, I have 2 full months off in a row- SUPER NICE! I have spent a lot of time searching through people's Etsy's sights at all the cute hand-made dresses, bags, etc. I decided a couple months ago that I would love to be able to sew and this summer as I search through the sights and see the prices I have decided I CAN DO IT...now all I need is a sewing machine, fabric and a pattern...Surely it can't be too hard. I would LOVE to make Janie Ann a cute apron dress for the beginning of the football season in orange and blue. So to all of my blog readers (that I know and don't know), what is the best (not too expensive- we have to figure out if I can really sew!) sewing machine? Easiest pattern to start with? If I do get a sewing machine- I'm not going to tell anyone until I am complete with my first project, but hopefully I will be posting pictures sometime soon of a cute dress I have made...we will have to see!

MUST READ!!!

Yes, I will admit it, I blog stalk...who doesn't? While I was blog stalking yesterday I came upon Kelle Hampton's blog- Enjoying the Small Things. The post I came upon was the birth story of her daughter, Nella Cordelia, which was so real and moving. I loved every last word of it and I highly suggest it for anyone to read. You need to find a time when you are by yourself, won't be distracted by anyone and you can cry. This is definitely a blog I will be reading!!

And when you think God has given you too much, always remember He will not give you more than you can handle.

Gigi- we wish you were here to swim with us!! Hopefully it will still be warm enough when you return that we can swim. Hope you are having a great time in CA and we can't wait for you to get back home!! Love and miss you bunches!

Yay for company!

This past weekend we had some friends come visit us from Birmingham and we had a GREAT weekend! Rosalyn, Josh and Jackson came down on Friday and we met at MeMaw's house for an afternoon swim. (I have pictures, but not downloaded yet.) Last time Jackson was down, he was right at 6 weeks old and Janie Ann was around 4 months old so they really didn't interact at all (besides when we laid them next to each other for 1 million photos!). This time Janie Ann LOVED touching, squeezing and kissing on Jackson- I'm not sure if Jackson felt the love or not!! This time we didn't get to take as many pictures- we were much more busy!! Below is the best picture of the two of them that I have. Then on Saturday we went to Auburn. The Parker's went down around 2 that afternoon (in the middle of a HUGE storm). We missed the storm outside because we were inside the BRHS auditorium watching our niece and her first dance recital! (Clark was super cute and knew exactly what to do and when. I have a feeling we will be going to PLENTY more of these recitals in the future!).Once the recital was over we met up with the Parker's in downtown Auburn and went to Samford and snapped some pictures.


It was so hot and humid we didn't stay long and because we live so close Seth, Janie Ann and I didn't worry about a family picture just yet- we will get one soon enough. I was very impressed with my skills...if only I had the time and money to invest in larger lenses I would LOVE to become a photographer, but I would have to hire someone to edit the pictures because I have yet to figure out Photoshop or Appeture!!

Then on Sunday we enjoyed some brunch at Ruby Tuesday's and then we swimming at MeMaw's again! We had a great weekend and can't wait for them to visit again!!

Sorry for not updating more...

We have been a little busy lately!

First we celebrated my grand-father's 89th birthday with some pasta and red velvet cake!! As you can see from the picture below- Janie Ann was more interested in the cake than taking a picture!!

Then, we have been swimming every chance we get at MeMaw's!

And I have also gone to the beach!! I was able to go on my first "girls trip" with Karin, Jodie (who got engaged!! YAY!) and my mommy. I enjoyed the beach what little I stayed on it- once I got hungry and sleepy I was ready to go inside! But after that my mommy and I had a great time shopping!!

So to say that we are a little busy might be an understatement! Hopefully my mommy can update it more often now- if I will nap for her! Right now, I have a friend over to stay the weekend, Jackson Parker, so I'm going to play with him now- hopefully mommy will put up pictures of us soon!! Until next time...
