Weekend Update!

Seth and I had a lot of fun this weekend in Nashville and got to do a lot of things- including run in a marathon! Ok, so we really didn’t register to run it in, but we did have run for a short (VERY short) period of time with all of the other marathon runners!! We were headed downtown to eat breakfast at the Pancake Pantry and all of the roads were closed that the GPS was telling us to turn on, so we decided we would just park and walk- it wouldn’t hurt us! So, first we find a parking deck that was free. On the way to the main street we had to walk it was straight down-hill- leaving was fine, but getting back was a different story! Anyways- off we go, walking along the main street Belmonte, I believe, and we come to the corner of Belmonte and 21st- where we had to cross….along with all 25000 marathon runners! So I ask one of the race crew guys how to get across- he just giggled and said, run at an angle with the runners and work your way over- then do the same thing once you reach the middle (the roads were turned into 2 lanes of runners- those that had just started and those that were coming back. (if that makes sense!) So… here we go… (Now, originally back in April/May of last year Karin, Marie, Lauren and myself were training to run in this marathon..All I got out of the training was some new tennis shoes and running shorts, needless to say NONE of us made it to the real thing, although Marie did run in a 5K!) Well, both of us made it to the center of the road together and then we just waited until we had another opening to sprint across- I saw one and went (I even had an older gentleman cheering for me as I crossed!), but when I turned back Seth was still waiting….I wasn’t sure why, but then he took off and made it across! Needless to say with that much adrenaline running through me (worried I was going to get knocked down and begin a pile up of marathoners) I was EXHAUSTED, but I knew waiting on me at the end of my walk was going to be a nice big plate of pancakes…so I managed to make it!! Boy am I glad we did- that was the BEST breakfast ever, I highly recommend going to the Pancake Pantry if you are ever in Nashville, it is worth your time!

Other news- we did a little shopping at the Opry Mills Outlet shops- didn’t purchase much, actually we only purchased me a watch from the Fossil outlet (Seth said he wasn’t surprised that I got something, I always get something!). Then we headed towards Vanderbilt to try to find the football stadium for the concert while we were downtown we ate lunch at Famous Five Guys Burgers and Fries- VERY GOOD! Auburn is getting one soon- I highly recommend it for a quick, good hamburger! Then we went back to the hotel to take a nap before the concert! Around 4 we headed back downtown to try to park- there were hardly any signs up and there was definitely no parking anywhere but one parking deck, close to the stadium, so that is where we parked and headed into the stadium. Robert Earl King (I think) opened up first, he was just ok, I was not impressed. Then Jason Mraz- when we saw Dave in ATL, Jason opened up for him and I liked his ATL performance better than this one, but he was still better than Robert Earl. Then about 45 minutes later Dave Matthews took the stage, and I’m not sure how many people know that morning sickness takes over my body around 6:30 PM EVERY NIGHT (It is getting better), but I was going to try to make it- heck I made it to 8:30, surely I can survive, well I thought I could until all the true hardcore, Dave Fans (we are true Dave fans, but just not hardcore!), began their favorite past-time activity and it made the stadium smell HORRIBLE. We made it through the first 4 songs and we have to leave. I felt TERRIBLE, and I still do feel awful about having to leave, but there was no way that I could sit comfortably through the whole concert. L Overall, it was a wonderful concert though and I’m glad we got to go, even if it was only for a little while!

Then Sunday we packed up and did a little downtown Nashville tour- got to see the Tennessee Titans stadium (they were beginning this when my family moved), Earnest Tubbs Records, my dad’s old work place, which is now something with CMT and the famous Batman building! After that we headed on home, both of us were exhausted and ready to get home! I didn’t take any pictures this weekend (cameras weren’t allowed in the concert and I was too afraid to even try to sneak mine in!), but Karin did take some pictures inside the concert- so hopefully I can get one of us from there and post it.

Pictures and Updates!

Well I have finally found my memory card reader and have time to do a quick little post!

Here is the bed with the comforter set my mom brought to us all the way from Cali! I LOVE IT!! It looks wonderful in the bedroom with the colors!
Here is the current "King" of the house... little does he know his world is about to be flipped upside down!

As for personal updates: BOTH of my doctors have changed my weekly appointments to every 2 weeks, which means they both think what we are currently doing is working and I just need to maintain it! :) We heard the baby's heartbeat again yesterday at the appointment- they have a new doppler and it was giving off random numbers for the heart-rate, so we didn't get an exact number, but Dr. Litsey said that it sounded perfect! I'm currently at 11 weeks and have had NO weight gain..so I'm worried for when I do start gaining weight with as much as I have been eating!! But on to other news...

This weekend, Seth and I are going to Nashville for the weekend. We have tickets to see Dave Matthews Band at Vandy Stadium so we are packing up tonight and leaving straight from school tomorrow! I'm so ready to get out of town for a little while and enjoy a nice weekend away! So check back next week for updates and hopefully pictures- if I can remember my camera. (If you noticed, there are no A-Day game pictures b/c I completely forgot my memory card..had the camera, though!)

Saturday Plans!

Today is a very busy day in the small town of Auburn. There is a STICKS concert- a big outdoor concert that is an all day event. Then the Auburn High School Prom is tonight, AU Vet school freshmen came in last night for a weekend full of learning, and to top it off is Auburn University's A-Day game! I have never been to an A-Day game, that I can remember, but Seth and I are going today. First, we are going to meet some friends that are coming in from Montgomery there- Second, I'm hoping to get a little bit of sun!!! Usually by now I am a nice brown color from my trips to the tanning bed, but as many of you know that is a BIG NO-NO when you are pregnant and I would much rather have pale skin and a healthy baby than be that nice spring brown! Anyways- that is one of the main reasons I want to go- to hopefully get some color on my arms and legs (and not burn!)!!

I finally found my memory card reader-so after today I will post a lot of pictures. From the house to A-day!! Check back later for those!!

God is AMAZING!

Well, today Seth and I had our ultrasound!! Thankfully they were able to schedule it while my mom was still in town and she was able to go with us. While you can't really tell much
on the pictures- you can tell that there is a baby in there!! We also got to hear the heartbeat for the first time!! It was 166 BPM and it was amazing to hear! I will have to say that both Seth and I did get a little teary eyed hearing it for the first time- and mom being able to experience that with us is priceless. Again- with these pictures you can't tell much-but you can tell that there is a baby there!! God is amazing!

Happy Easter!

Well- it's Easter morning and I have been thinking- this will be our (Seth and I) last Easter where the Easter Bunny doesn't appear! It's amazing to think that next Easter (and Thanksgiving and Christmas...) we will have baby! God is amazing!

Well, Friday night my mom and her boyfriend came over for dinner and to see the house for the first time since it has been completed! She also brought us our new comforter set for our bedroom!! It looks amazing! I went yesterday and bought new pillows and sheets to match! I will post pictures, hopefully tonight! Today is a busy day...Seth and my father have gone to sunrise service, it is a little too cold for me, I know that is not a good excuse for everything the Lord has done for me- but I'm sure He understands! We will attend the 11:00 service at RCBC- then to have lunch at Mrs. Vickie's house! After that I will then go to my Aunts house to see my mom's side of the family, before coming back home tonight and spending some time with my dad and grandfather! I know I will be exhausted tomorrow!!! Again- hopefully I will post pictures from todays activities later tonight, but if not- check back tomorrow!

Update

Well, yesterday we got to the doctor's office and had to wait for 45 minutes! They were super busy. I met Dr. Golden for the first time- and I really liked him, he was very personal and did everything to make me feel comfortable about my blood sugars and the pregnancy. We did not hear the heartbeat yesterday, I was throughly upset, but Dr. Golden reassured me that this was extrememly normal and not to worry at all- we would check again next week. He did set up an ultrasound since my mom will be here for Monday at 3:45!! I can't wait!

Other news- my mom made it home last night!! They had a minor flight delay from Houston to B'ham, which does not surprise me at all!! I can't wait to see my mom this afternoon- it has been way too long!!

SURPRISE!

Seth and I are expecting a baby!! While we are telling a little sooner than we want to, word had slowly gotten out, so we both felt as though it was time for us to tell before word spread! I am currently 9 weeks and we go this Thursday to hopefully hear the heartbeat. So PLEASE keep us in your prayers!! We are both very excited and can’t wait to see what this journey holds for us!

How am I doing? Well- great! It couldn’t have happened at a better time for us- we are finished with the house and have plenty of time to get settled before our newest arrives. Seth probably wishes it would have happened a little bit later, only due to the fact that I am unable to lift any heavy boxes and I get exhausted at the drop of a hat, but he has managed to do things fine without me. Other than that, I have had some blood sugar issues- going extremely low. So right now I’m seeing both doctors, OB and Endo, once a week until we can get them under control. From everything that I have read, this is very normal, but again, please keep us in your prayers!!

Other exciting news: My mom is coming home this Thursday for a visit!! I haven't seen her since Christmas and I can't wait!! The last time they saw the house it was just wood, so she is going to be amazed!! Also-before she leaves next week, we are hopefully going to have an ultrasound done!! I will keep you updated!

Quick Update

Our garage door is going up today, I will take pictures and post as soon as I can get the internet working again... I have NO idea what is wrong with it- and it is very frustrating!! It has to configure the modem and then you have to unplug it and wait and then it will configure again... it's an ongoing cycle that never seems to end!! Hopefully I will get home in time to call Centrytel this afternoon and get that fixed. I will also, hopefully, figure out how to check our voicemail! We have it- and if you have left a message, I'm sorry. I have NO idea how to check it!!
