Summer Break!

This picture of Harrison explains it all! Summer break has been great! I have been swimming multiple times and just relaxing- not worrying about a thing! I really want it to stay June for a while, because once July gets here- we are that much closer to going back to work... :(. 

Sips N Strokes

Thursday night Jodie, Rosalyn, Emily, Karin and I went to the new Sips N Strokes in Auburn. It's a neat little shop where you start with a blank canvas and leave with a painting! It was so much fun. Above are the pictures of my painting- step by step. Going into it, I thought it was going to be so easy to pick the colors and everything....WRONG! I wanted to paint it for our half bath, which is khaki, black and red...notice the only color that matches is the red!! BUT, it is hanging in our bathroom! :) We all really enjoyed ourselves and I can't wait to go again!! The July calendar is posted, I just need to get a group together and register!! Also...I wasn't able to "sip" on anythign special, but if you could- I think the picture would be that much better because you would be more relaxed! I am more of a concrete person and this was an abstract painting, so it was very hard for me to relax and just paint, but in the end it turned out just fine!! 

Janie's first Vera Bag!

Yesterday while we were in B'ham for our anniversary we went to the Vera Bradley store at the Summit, while we were in there Seth told me to pick out a pattern that I would like to use for Janie Ann. They had so many different patterns that I loved, but I LOVED this pattern- so Seth went ahead and bought me this bag to use as a purse until Janie gets here, and then I can use it for a small diaper bag once she arrives for when we go to Church and small outings!! Anyways- here is Janie's first Vera bag, purchased for her by her daddy! 

Happy Anniversary!

Well, today marks 3 years!! Yes, THREE years!! I can't really believe that Seth and I have been married for 3 years now. It seems like yesterday! Boy has a lot changed in 3 years, too! We bought a house, sold a house, and built a house. Now we are expecting our first baby, a little girl, and life couldn't be better! Seth also graduated with his masters and we both received tenure at our jobs. We have also become Aunt and Uncle to 5- yes 5- neices and nephews! Needless to say our lives have changed for the better and it keeps getting better! 

Seth and I got to spend all day together, which we do a lot during the summer, but it was nice- just us, which it won't be that way for long!! I am so lucky to have Seth as my husband and I thank God daily for allowing him to be in my life! I can't wait to look back at this post in the following years and see how much more we are going to change!! 

Half-way there!!

Well today marks the 20th week of my pregnancy!! I really can't believe that I am 1/2 way done with this, but I can't believe that I have 20 more weeks of growing!!! Also in this picture you can see Janie's bed and window valances! Her room is coming together very nicely! Today was also father's day! We had a lot of fun spending time with our dad's today. For lunch Seth and I fixed some food for my dad, grand-father and brother and took the opportunity to take some pictures with them! I throughly enjoy spending time with my grand-father, but I don't have that many pictures with him, so I want that to change- and I started today!! 

Then after we had lunch with my family we went to Gammie and Pop's house (Scott's parents) to grill out for dinner and swim. Needless to say, I'm exhausted! I know next year at this time it is going to be a LOT different and I can't wait!! I also took a picture of Seth and I this afternoon, I missed it at the wedding yesterday, but I will post it Wednesday....  

FINALLY!!! Pictures!

Finally- here are some before and after pictures of Janie's furniture!! It looks great in her nursery. Seth is working on putting the bed together as I type this- so I will add more pictures soon with the bed!! The pink took a little adjusting- I'm more of a "plain" person- and this pink is far from plain!!! 
 Ok- so the pictures are a little our of order- but you can tell the before pictures of the furniture from the after!! It looks great- Seth did such an amazing job!!! I may hire him out to make a little extra money! HA!! :) Anyways- this was one of our summer projects (probably our only, really) that we wanted to get done before we went back to school- and her it is June 19th and it's DONE!!! Once Seth puts his mind to something- he is going to work until it is completed and that is exactly what he has done!! Again, once the bed is up I will post more pictures with the bedding and stuff, but until then!!! 

Also- Sunday marks the 1/2 way point, which I can't believe- so I will post a belly picture soon, I know my mom loves seeing them!! We have a wedding to attend tomorrow- so maybe I will look ok and can get a picture!! 

Update!

Sorry it's been so long since my last post! I've tried to post pictures of Janie's furniture and bedding multiple times, but our internet and blogger were not working with me, so I gave up!! Anyways- all of Janie Ann's furniture is done and her bed is actually ready for us to pick up!! We are going to get it tomorrow, along with the paint!! Our painter is coming on Friday to paint and we will be ready to decorate in there!! I WILL post before and after pictures- I promise!! 

We went to the doctor in the B'ham on Monday and received a great report- everything is developing correctly and the doctor stated that there was no signs of me being diabetic and I just needed to keep up the good work!! :) We also got verification that she is, in fact, a little girl!! I have also been feeling her move around for about 2 weeks now, the movements are getting stronger each week and it is a feeling that I will never forget- I can't wait until Seth can really feel her. 

As for our summer... it's going great!! Seth received his grant through the University, so he is working periodically throughout the week and I'm just lounging around the house! Tuesday I had the pleasure of going swimming with Lisa, Maggie, and Rebecca (Maggie's friend) at Mrs. Deborah's house. Harrison joined us later in the day- I only burned my legs and it's not that bad. Lisa kept an eye out on me so that Seth would let me go with them again. Hopefully we can go again soon!!! This weekend we have a wedding to attend, along with it being Father's Day weekend! So we will be busy! Then next weekend is Adam Hunter's wedding in Valley, AL- so another busy weekend! Hopefully I will get some pictures at both weddings to post on here later!! 

Furniture and updates

Well, Seth has been working extremely hard on re-finishing my old furniture for Janie Ann. I believe it is going to be perfect!! I have also ordered her bedding, hopefully it will be here at the beginning of next week!!! Once I get it I will post pictures! I also have to order her bed, I know which one I want to order, but every time I go to order something happens with our internet, so now I'm scared to order thinking I might get charged more than once. So, I am going to wait until I can get to Mrs. Vickie's house and order it from there!! Seth will hopefully spray on the last coat of paint on the dresser/mirror tomorrow and I can post pictures, but I don't wnat to post any pictures until he is completely done!! 

In other news...Seth and I traded in both of our cars for a 2008 Hyundai Veracruz and we also purchased a 2001 Hyundai Elantra. The Elantra was purchased for us to take back and forth to work so we wouldn't put so many miles on the nicer car. I will also post pictures of the new cars soon. We are very excited that we could do this and get down to only one car payment and save some money!! We were also excited that our new car has a DVD player...funny how priorities change once you find out you will be having a baby, I never thought I would need a car with a DVD player! (Even though Janie won't care about the DVD player for a while, it will be there once she is ready!!) 

Finally, prayer request: Seth and I will be traveling to UAB on Monday to the Prenatal Women's Clinic to have another ultrasound done to check out Janie Ann's heart and make sure that everything is where it needs to be and working the way it needs to be working. Our last ultrasound at Dr. Litsey's, Shelia said that everything looked great, but since I am considered high-risk this was something that was offered to us, so we decided to take the extra pre-caution and get everything checked out. My prayer is that everything is developing correctly and that the doctor will find nothing wrong! 

20 years later...

Last night Circle of Friends was at my house- Mrs. Gail hosted it for me! They threw me a wonderful housewarming shower and had an excellent speaker! Before I get too far into it let me explain what Circle of Friends is about! Circle was started 9 years ago by my mother-in-law, it was something that God put on her heart and she went with it, we meet the first Wednesday of every month and it is just a time for everyone to get together and give updates on prayer request, etc. I really didn't start attending until Seth and I moved back and now I'm glad I am able to go every month- it truly is a blessing! 

Anyways- like I said before, Mrs. Gail hosted it and she said that at first she didn't have anyone laid on her heart to speak, but one night around 11 pm the Lord spoke to her and laid a lady on her heart to speak. Shelia Fuller was the guest speaker and it is amazing how the Lord works. Approx. 20 years ago- June 1989 Shelia was called by her grandmother and informed that she must be at breakfast before the Goss reunion that Ray and Amanda Stephens was going to be there and I had just been diagnosed with diabetes and they had a lot of questions- now 20 years later Mrs. Gail called her to speak at Circle and mostly to me, without knowing that she had been asked to do the same thing years earlier for my parents. Shelia had some very encouraging words for me as Seth and I go through this new phase in life together. Anyways...I can't type

 this without crying...so I'm going to end it there, but it is AMAZING how God works. It always helps to get encouraging words from someone that has been there and made it through. She purchased me a journal so that I begin journaling for Janie, something to help me remember everything that I am going through- good and bad- I just hope that I stick to it once she arrives, as well. She also gave me a Willow Tree person- Cherish (pictured below), Awaiting a Miracle- which is what Seth and I are currently doing- awaiting and praying for Janie Ann!!

Spoiled already!!

Janie isn't even here yet, but her daddy is already spoiling her!! Yesterday when I was at doctor Seth went over to Tiger Town and did a little shopping. While he was there he went into Hobby Lobby and picked up a few things for Janie's room. We have decided we want the colors to be pink and black, we still haven't decided whether or not we want a light shade of pink or a bright pink, more than likely we will have many shades of pink!! Today Seth is going to begin working on Janie's furniture. We couldn't ever find anything that we loved (the whole set)- we would find a bed, but then the dresser/hutch that came with it we wouldn't love, so we decided to re-finish my old dresser and chester drawers. My grandparents purchased it for me when I was 3, I believe, and it was just going to go to storage, which I hated. So, hopefully it will turn out as planned!! If it does, I will post before and after pictures....if it doesn't it looks as though we will be on the search again!! Also- if you know of any fabric places that has great deals on fabric- let me know!!! We are going for a chic look in Janie's room- pink, black and white. Her furniture will be black- so we want a bedding that is mostly pink/white with a little black. Also- if you have any ideas on what color we should paint the walls it would be appreciated it!! :) 

Dr. Update

Well, I had a doctor's appointment yesterday. 2 weeks ago, when we had the ultrasound done the ultrasound lady, Sherry, said that my due date would be changed to Nov. 15th because because Janie was measuring at 14 weeks instead of 15, so anyways...I go back today and Dr. Litsey asked me if I was 17 weeks, my reply was no- I'm only 16 which of course came with questions. Anyways- after figuring everything out, he said that my due date was still Nov. 8th and that I was indeed 17 weeks pregnant instead of 160 which makes me feel a little better about how big I'm getting!! 

In other news, I'm not sure how many people know about how many times my new car has been in the shop- but it's too many for a new car, in my opinion! So, we received an email from Chevy the other day about customer satisfaction, and if you know me, you know I had something to tell them! Well, they emailed me back with the customer service number, which I have been looking for! So I called this morning and after talking to the rep. she asked me what Chevy could to do make me happy- of course, my reply....Buy my car back from me....well, they will be calling me tomorrow with more information on if they will actually buy it back from me or not. I'm not holding my breath- and I told the lady that, why would GM buy back a messed up car (well, it's not messed up right now) when they just filed for bankruptcy! Anyways. Seth and I currently looking at the possibility of purchasing a nice SUV/crossover and getting rid of 2 car payments and only having one- we ride together to work and we are both off at the same time, plus my dad has 3 extra trucks sitting in his drive way....we will see!

Everything went great!! No one ended up going down Sweetwater Road, which is always a plus, and no one got lost coming out here!! It was a very nice, small get together for Rosalyn and Josh and everyone, I hope, had a great time!
