War Eagle!

Well, tomorrow is the last college football game of the season for Auburn University, unless we get lucky and win! Tomorrow is the beloved Iron Bowl...Seth got a ticket for his graduation/birthday present, and one of our friends, Coy, is going with him- I'm sure I will have pictures to post later, I just hope its a great game!!

The house is coming along!! We now have brick along the back of the house!! The brick layers won't be working much next week, but will be back the following week, but we have plenty to work on inside the house! The plumber passed his inspection, so now we are just waiting on the electrian! Below are some pictures of the house- we talked to our framer tonight, and he said we should be in about 3.5 months! It was nice to hear that from someone that actually understands how long it takes to build a house!!!

This is the side of the house, right next to the garage- you are looking at the study window and a window in the master bedroom! I am so pleased with the color of the brick and shingles together!! (I was VERY worried about making sure it would all match!)

This is the master shower- it has 4 body sprays, a hand-held shower head and then a regular shower head!!

Thanksgiving

WOW, do I have a lot to be thankful for this year! First, I am very thankful for my husband, he takes care of me and worries about me constantly. Second, I'm very thankful for our health! Third, I'm thankful for my family! I absolutely love my nieces and nephew and I am very thankful for all the time that we get to spend with them! I am also very thankful for my parents and Seth's parents- they have both help Seth and I whenever we need them! I am also very thankful for our siblings, although I really didn't get along great with my brother when we were little, I wouldn't give him away to anyone now!! I'm also thankful for our jobs!! Not too many people can say that at this time, but Seth and I are both very lucky to work in a school system that does a lot for there teachers, and I pray that we both continue to work here for many years to come!! Finally, I'm thankful that Seth and I are able to build a house, together! With that, here are some updates:

The roof is now complete! It is completely in the dry! The plumber had his inspection today, and I suppose it went well, we haven't heard anything bad!! Hopefully the heating and air/electrician can finish soon, so that we can go on with the next step! The brick layers are working away- as of Tuesday afternoon, they had laid about 7,000 brick! Tonight, we stopped at Home Depot (our second home these days!) and picked up the door knobs for the french doors and front door! Below are some pictures of the door knobs and the progress!

Tomorrow, Seth and I will be putting the door knobs on the door- so I will post pictures with them on the doors, too!! I hope everyone has a GREAT Thanksgiving!!

More progress

Seth and I went up on Sunday and CLEANED the whole house! We swept up all the saw dust, wires lying around, and trash! I was amazed at the amount of TRASH was everywhere! I guess if your work title has the work CONSTRUCTION anywhere in it, it means that you can just throw trash down where ever you are standing! We were talking with the electrician on Saturday and he was eating some M&M's, when he was done with the bag- he just threw it on the ground!!! I was amazed!

Anyways, we swept and used a shop vacuum to clean the entire house!! Hopefully when we go back this afternoon, it will still be clean!The roofer began yesterday, according to my dad, he got about 1/2 the house done yesterday! Hopefully the roof will be done when we arrive this afternoon!! The brick layers are steadily working their way around- pictures to come soon! The plumber and electrician should be done with the rough-in by Monday of next week! Then comes the inspector and once we have approval to continue, the insulation will be next!!

Anyways- I will update more, hopefully tonight, with pictures of the progress!!

Plugs, bricks and doors...

OH MY!! The house is coming right along! Seth and I went to look at the progress last night, and we were VERY SURPRISED! All the exterior doors are in (except the garage entry door into the house), our guest tub/shower was ordered, delivered, and in place! We also have a breaker box, air vents, return vent and plumbing for the washer and dryer! The brick was delivered and spread out, ready to be laid! I was so excited, I think I took a picture of every light switch and plug that we have in our house!! Here are a few pictures for your enjoyment!

House update

The plumber and electrician are supposed to start tomorrow, and on Tuesday we are going to have a load of bricks delivered for the brick people to begin on Wednesday!! More pictures to come with more progress!! :)

War Eagle, anyways

Well, Seth and I went to the last Auburn home football of the season this weekend. Auburn vs. Georgia, while we haven't had the best season- I still love my Auburn Tigers!! Below are a few pictures from the game- maybe next year Seth and I can have seats next to each other!! We still have one game left in the season, while the opposing team that we will be playing has had a very good season, I like to keep an open mind, and hope we win!!

One more picture... having season tickets you sit next to the same people all season, and I got lucky enough to sit next to Rosalyn and Josh (Rosalyd and I are sorority sisters, and co-workers!), well her husband Josh pointed out this guy about 2 rows below us that looked JUST LIKE my dad if you glanced at him quickly... well- I took his picture the last game, it makes me laugh every time I think about it!!

Lights

We have lights, and TONS of them! Seth and I decided that we would go out and pick out the lights and purchase them so that we could mark another task off of our list, and that we did! First, I didn't realize that it was going to be such a difficult task to take on, but we did it! Now they are sitting in my grandfather's dining room!!

It's coming along!!

Well, it's been a while since I have updated on the house, but after Seth and I purchased the lights, I figured that I would post some pictures. While we were at Home Depot my dad called, he was in the garage at the house and said that all the windows and doors were there, well, all the doors, but the front door... I really am beginning to HATE that place, not that I loved it to start with, but after my front door not being delivered by the "guarantee date", nor anywhere CLOSE to that date- it just makes me MAD! It's supposed to be here by Friday, we will see. Then tonight while we were there, Seth and I had questions about lights and the sweet, little gentleman working the lighting department probably couldn't tell me where the restroom was located, much less anything about the lights! FRUSTRATING! Needless to say, Seth and I figured out what we needed and made the purchase!

Harper Baylee

I did steal this picture from my brother-in-law, David Dennis. She is beautiful!! She went to the doctor today and she is doing great!! I will update soon on the house!

Update on Life...

Well, a lot has changed since last Friday!! Harper finally got to come home, but I still don't have pictures- we went into town without the camera- I took some with Seth's phone, but his email won't send it to me :(. Once I get it, I will post it!!

The house is coming right along- we have most of a roof up, he will be finished by Friday with that, and it will be "in the dry" by Tuesday of next week!! We have the brick layer, plumber and electrician lined up to begin as soon as Ken is done!! It's coming right along!

My mom FINALLY came back home, only to prepare to go back out in about 8 more days! She will be in CA for 13 weeks! Needless to say, that is where we will be spending the New Year!! Also, Seth will be taking his Comprehensive Finals on Friday from 8-12, so please keep him and his classmates in your prayers on Friday morning! More updates/pictures to come soon!!

Front door...

Well, we were supposed to get our front door yesterday, Seth called to check on it and when he did the worker informed Seth that the district manager had turned the inventory truck away, since it was the last day of the month. Well, Seth just told me that the door wasn't going to be in until next week. Well, I didn't think anything of it, just a little upset. Well, about 40 minutes later Seth called me back, overly excited, and informed me that we got our front door for FREE!!! So, we will be picking up our door next week, but we won't be paying for it!
