Big Girl Seat!!

Yes, I know she is not a year old yet, but she does weight 20 lbs. I had a sorority sister, Hilary, send me a link about car seat safety and while it made me think long and hard about turning her around- we went ahead and did it for the nice car...we don't use this car often during the school year and so she is still in her bucket seat 99% of the time. We use this car mainly on Sunday's headed to church. The car seat was on sale and it was too good to pass up- I have been watching them online for a while and our local Target (well, local being Auburn) had them on sale at a great price!! We went for a short ride Sunday afternoon to Uncle Joe's house (Seth's uncle) and she didn't seem to care that she was facing forward and she did great when we loaded her into the bucket seat this morning to head to MeMaw's. We are waiting a little bit longer to get 2 more car seats- but the other 2 we have picked out will go in rear-facing or forward facing, so I will probably keep her rear-facing a little bit longer!!

Moving!

CONSTANTLY moving- everywhere and into everything!! I am LOVING this stage- she is so much fun and finds more and more to get into everyday! Although I want her to slow down just a little bit- but I am loving it!!

She is also starting to look more and more like a little girl and not so much like a baby!

Hold on! It's going to be a wild ride!!

CRASH!!!!

I can't believe TODAY she is 10 months old!!! Where has the time gone? She has really started moving this past month. She is also becoming more verbal- her favorite word is "DOG" and a close second is "Dada". She will also say "Georgia", "Momma" (when she is upset), and she is attempting to say "Grand-daddy". I'm sure by the end of the weekend she will be saying "War Eagle"! :) She has also really started more and more table foods- her favorite is anything sweet or anything she can feed herself. I just love to watch her with amazement at how much she has changed and I thank God everyday for this little miracle that He has given to Seth and I to raise. And now that the school routine has started, hopefully I will be able to blog more often and won't post so many in one night!!

Dear Gigi...

When you left to go to California, I was about 6 months old and not doing very much....my how I've changed! Here is a picture of you holding me about a week before you left- you had to help hold me up because I wasn't perfect with holding my back/neck up for long periods of time by myself....
but now- I can do A LOT by myself and learning more and more everyday! I'm crawling all over the place and while I started out slow I've caught on fast and now quickly moving all over the place!! Thanks to my cousins I have also learned how to pull-up on EVERYTHING! At first I was a little hesitant about it, but now I've got the hang of it and try to pull up on everything!! My favorite things to pull up on are also the most dangerous- like the corner of a table! I've also been wearing the cute clothes you bought me last summer while you were in California. Mom's favorite is the halter top dress.

I can't wait for you to come home for my 1st birthday- there is no telling what all I will be doing by then! I also can't wait for you to come home so that I can stay with you some- I enjoy staying with my MeMaw and the twins, but I miss you keeping me and me getting ALL the attention! :) I love you!

Beach Trip 2010

We had a great trip to Gulf Shores/Perdido Key last weekend! Seth surprised me Thursday afternoon and told me to pack my bags- we were going on vacation!! It was MUCH needed after a long work week- it was so nice to go and relax. Janie Ann did not love the sand, but hopefully by next summer she will love it!! :) We ate at Tacky Jacks and it was delish! (The President ate there while visiting the Gulf!) We did a little shopping at the outlets and we attempted to sleep late! Janie Ann was not the best bed partner, therefore we had to nap when we could! These are just a few of my favorite pictures. ENJOY!!

WAR EAGLE!!!

The time is getting close for college football!!! I believe today is 21 days until kick-off for Auburn football! We got our season tickets on Thursday night and Seth wanted to take Janie Ann's picture with her first set of season tickets (yes, she does have her own ticket!) so that we can use it for her senior yearbook/college gift one day.

Family protector!

Well- I thought today's post (this post began on August 10th...but because of school is not posted until now!) would be about our first day of school with students and how exciting that was...but Cadillac had other plans! This morning he was barking like CRAZY- so Seth went out there to see what was going on and as soon as Seth went outside Cadillac attacked whatever he was barking at (we had no idea at the time what it was) to protect Seth. Seth quickly saw the snake and killed it, but by that time Cadillac had been bitten. We weren't sure what type of snake it was- it was approx. 15 inches long, so we both thought it was a baby snake (me thinking- a momma snake is somewhere!), but it turns out that it was a pygmy rattlesnake- approx. 2-3 years old according to the vet. It has 3 rattles, but because it was so small you can't hear them! SCARY!! It gives me chills to even think about it!

Cadillac is going to be fine- they watched him at the vet for the day and when I called to check on him, he was out in the lab because they couldn't keep him calm in the kennel!! Also, when Seth picked him up- the instructions were for us to keep him as calm as possible and that the swelling in his snout/neck area would possibly move down to his chest area, but he would be just fine! Above is a picture of him about 2 years ago, but it is so you can see how much his little snout was swollen!!

He was pitiful for about a day- we let him stay inside during that time and by the next night he was READY to get outside!! I think Janie Ann messed with his nerves!! He would stand at the door and whine to go outside!! We are SO thankful that he warned us about the snake!!!

Summer is over...

And I could cry at the thought of going to work every single day...but someones gotta do it! Janie Ann survived her first day back at MeMaw's with the twins and I survived my first day back at work without Janie Ann!! MeMaw said that Janie Ann played and played with the twins- of course thinking she was as big as they are and them thinking she was a baby! I survived my day of meetings and classroom orginazation (not much was accomplished in the room!!)

We had a GREAT summer break and the summer started off with tons of plans...but with a baby those plans were quickly put away and we just enjoyed being at home together with our main vacation being to Children's Harbor for the 4th! It was a wonderful vacation and hoping we can return again next year!! We had plans on going to Califiornia to visit my mom, but flying with a 9 month old is overwhelming to even think about- much less actually accomplish it! Hopefully next summer mom will be closer to home so that we can vacation to see her!! Now we are working for the weekend and towards the next big break- Thanksgiving! :)
