Birthday Party invite pictures

Well, we are planning Janie Ann's 1st birthday party- CRAZY that in just a few short weeks our "baby" girl will be ONE!! Where did the time go?? Where did my baby go? We now have a toddler- for sure! One that likes to throw fits and is very independent- but I wouldn't change it for the world! I'm designing her birthday invitation and I wanted to put a picture on her invite so that we could put it up and pull it out in 20 years and reminisce. So- we dressed in her some cute fall/Auburn colors and attempted to get her picture! She was kind of fussy- then next morning she woke up and was PITIFUL! She currently has the croup and at 11 months old was given her first antibiotic.

So here are a few of the "out-takes" from our photo shoot- hopefully we got a decent one for her invite!! Once it is designed and ordered, I will post a picture of it, too!

It's been a while!

Wow, it has been a while since my last post! I guess Janie Ann, school, IEP's, and football season have kept me super busy!! A lot has happened since my last post...

I went on an all-girls trip to the beach to celebrate a close friend's upcoming wedding. That was super fun and I can't wait to go to her wedding (at the beach) next weekend!! (WOW- I didn't realize it was SO close!!) I didn't take any pictures (SURPRISE!), so there would be no proof of what happened!! HA!

On our way back from the beach I received an email from a co-worker letting me know that another co-worker and very close friend's daughter (3.5 years old) was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Let me tell you, that hit so close to home for me and especially my family. This friend knows that I love her and her family dearly and anything we can do to help, we will be there for them!! Keep this family in your prayers as they adjust to a new way of living!! So, that Monday- Friday that co-worker took a week off to be with her daughter and I was in charge of any and everything special ed at AJHS...needless to say she was GREATLY MISSED, but we survived and AJHS is still standing (barely!).

Then on Friday of this past week my sweet Janie Ann had run a fever almost all day long. At one point it was 101.7- but we thought at the time it was because she was laying on me. So we gave her Tylenol and snuggled all Friday night. Then Saturday rolled around and we were ready to tailgate- she was still running a fever, but not as high, so we thought it was her teething. Bless her, we had her in the heat all day Saturday! We didn't (Janie Ann and I) go into the game Saturday night b/c she still had a small fever and so I thought it was best not to risk taking her in and her getting fussy and us have to leave early. (Thank goodness, because that would have been a hard game to leave come the 2nd half!) So, Sunday rolls around and she still isn't' feeling great, so we called Dr. BB and went in to have her checked out. Come to find out she had some virus and so I took Monday off to stay with her and Seth took Tuesday off. Needless to say, in those 2 days she was super spoiled...I wonder how she is doing at MeMaws today?? She is getting so big and over the 2 days spent at home with her we noticed a few changes in her...mostly the TEMPER TANTRUMS!! Let me tell you what- that girl can pitch a fit! If any little thing does not go her way I can almost guarantee that she will fall to the floor crying- at first, I will admit it was pretty funny to watch...then after about the 5th one in less than 3 hours it wasn't funny anymore!! Tomorrow my dad will be keeping her, MeMaw is going on a bus trip, and I have warned him about the temper tantrums and his response? "I will probably have flashbacks of some other little girl that used to throw fits." I'm not sure who he is talking about since I'm his only little girl and I'm pretty certain I never did anything like that!! :)

Ok- this is probably the longest/strangest/jumbled up blog I have ever written, so I'm sorry for the craziness!! I'm posting a few pictures from the past month or so- enjoy!!

the sun was super bright- walking on campus to the alumni tent! Janie Ann and her "Uncle" Cole- who is about to be a daddy any week now!! We are SUPER excited to have Hudson join us in just a few weeks!!!

When Janie Ann was approx. 3 months old, Seth and I were in Birmingham visiting Josh and Rosalyn and when we were headed home I got a call from Roz stating that the Hallmark we were about to pass had some recordable books. I had wanted to get 'Twas the Night Before Christmas during the Holiday season, but it was sold out everywhere, so after she told me exactly where to go- we went! They had 3 different books and it was SO HARD to pick just one...they are pretty expensive...but I did- I finally picked, All the Ways I love you. Seth and I planned on reading it to her and recording it when we got home. Well, needless to say that was 7 months ago and we never did it. Instead we took it to my grandfather and it sat on top of the paper shredder for about 4 months. Finally today I called my brother and told him that he HAD TO record it with Papaw. I got a call around 3 from Paden and he said they were done with it...we were in Auburn at the time and as soon as we got home we went and picked up the book. OH MY GOSH...it was the BEST thing I have ever seen/heard and something that I will cherish FOREVER! Before we finished listening to the dedication page I was crying. I know that my grandfather will not be with me forever, but as long as we take great care of this book- it will be. We are going to buy some more (hopefully) so that we can have one from all of her great-grandparents.

1st game of the season!

Saturday was Auburn University's first game of the season and needless to say we were SO EXCITED!!! Janie Ann had her Auburn gear ready and we were excited to see how she would do at her first tailgate and game. I do have pictures from our tailgate, but I haven't downloaded them yet- but she did great! She slept the first half and played with her cousins and ate the second half! She loves being outside so it was perfect for her. We had the tents set up, TV and TONS of food! It was nice and cool- the wind was blowing and it was the perfect weekend for college football! Before we go into the game we always stop by the tailgate spot where Beverly Helm and Sandy Resa tailgate (Beverly is on Seth's team and Sandy is the vice-principal).Mrs. Resa is the one who got Janie Ann the CUTEST little cheer outfit when she was born, so of course we had to show her off!
We entered the game with about 45 minutes until kick-off. I guess the excitment from the day just wore her out and she slept through the eagle flying, band playing, football team entering and the first quarter
But when she did wake up- she was happy as can be! The noise did not bother her at all and she loved all the music and people!

And the people sitting around us LOVED her. We had muliple people stop on their way down and comment about how good she was or how much they loved watching her. The people that sit next to us leaned over at one point and asked me if my arms were getting tired and I replied, no- they are fine, so then she just asked if she could hold Janie Ann!! Of course I let them- and down the line she went! She was fine until she turned around and saw that I wasn't close to her.
I'm sure by the end of the season she will be going to visit them without a problem! We are so excited to go to our next game! Auburn vs. Clemson, another 6:00 kick-off! Until then- WAR EAGLE!!

Big Girl Seat!!

Yes, I know she is not a year old yet, but she does weight 20 lbs. I had a sorority sister, Hilary, send me a link about car seat safety and while it made me think long and hard about turning her around- we went ahead and did it for the nice car...we don't use this car often during the school year and so she is still in her bucket seat 99% of the time. We use this car mainly on Sunday's headed to church. The car seat was on sale and it was too good to pass up- I have been watching them online for a while and our local Target (well, local being Auburn) had them on sale at a great price!! We went for a short ride Sunday afternoon to Uncle Joe's house (Seth's uncle) and she didn't seem to care that she was facing forward and she did great when we loaded her into the bucket seat this morning to head to MeMaw's. We are waiting a little bit longer to get 2 more car seats- but the other 2 we have picked out will go in rear-facing or forward facing, so I will probably keep her rear-facing a little bit longer!!

Moving!

CONSTANTLY moving- everywhere and into everything!! I am LOVING this stage- she is so much fun and finds more and more to get into everyday! Although I want her to slow down just a little bit- but I am loving it!!

She is also starting to look more and more like a little girl and not so much like a baby!

Hold on! It's going to be a wild ride!!

CRASH!!!!

I can't believe TODAY she is 10 months old!!! Where has the time gone? She has really started moving this past month. She is also becoming more verbal- her favorite word is "DOG" and a close second is "Dada". She will also say "Georgia", "Momma" (when she is upset), and she is attempting to say "Grand-daddy". I'm sure by the end of the weekend she will be saying "War Eagle"! :) She has also really started more and more table foods- her favorite is anything sweet or anything she can feed herself. I just love to watch her with amazement at how much she has changed and I thank God everyday for this little miracle that He has given to Seth and I to raise. And now that the school routine has started, hopefully I will be able to blog more often and won't post so many in one night!!

Dear Gigi...

When you left to go to California, I was about 6 months old and not doing very much....my how I've changed! Here is a picture of you holding me about a week before you left- you had to help hold me up because I wasn't perfect with holding my back/neck up for long periods of time by myself....
but now- I can do A LOT by myself and learning more and more everyday! I'm crawling all over the place and while I started out slow I've caught on fast and now quickly moving all over the place!! Thanks to my cousins I have also learned how to pull-up on EVERYTHING! At first I was a little hesitant about it, but now I've got the hang of it and try to pull up on everything!! My favorite things to pull up on are also the most dangerous- like the corner of a table! I've also been wearing the cute clothes you bought me last summer while you were in California. Mom's favorite is the halter top dress.

I can't wait for you to come home for my 1st birthday- there is no telling what all I will be doing by then! I also can't wait for you to come home so that I can stay with you some- I enjoy staying with my MeMaw and the twins, but I miss you keeping me and me getting ALL the attention! :) I love you!
