WAR CAM EAGLE!

After the Iron Bowl on Friday we loaded up the car with everything we needed for the night and headed to Auburn so go roll Toomer's Corner! It has to be the most awesome tradition EVER!We arrived about 1.5 hours after the game was over, due to our drive, there were still tons of people everywhere and TP was still flying threw the air. Because we were later getting there, we were able to get under the tree and was able to get some awesome pictures!!

After we took pictures and celebrated under the tree we walked down to 5 Guys and enjoyed a wonderful hamburger! Then we walked to Tiger Rags to get a shirt- OMG- the line was STILL out the door. Definitely not worth waiting on in the freezing cold...so we went to Target! Done a little shopping and then went back to Tiger Rags (This would be the 3rd time attempting)- still no luck...Karin had read on her phone that Big Blue had shirts, so while we were already in Auburn and it was already late we headed that way! As we were turning into the parking lot we saw police lights- I convinced Seth to turn around and follow the team buses! We got stopped at a few red lights and had we been thinking ahead- we would have detoured straight to the athletic complex....but we didn't- we followed them through Toomers... We got to the complex and cars were EVERYWHERE! Seth stopped in the parking lot- I grabbed Janie Ann and Karin jumped out and we took off running...not jogging, but a full sprint- RUN! Karin kept saying, "Please don't trip- Please don't drop Janie Ann" and Janie Ann was just hanging on!! It was definitely a night full of memories! When we got up there people were cheering and the football team was just walking to their cars. I had my camera and anyone that walked by in AU gear and looked like they might have been on the sidelines- I asked for a picture! So, after taking a picture with Ralph Spry (at least, I think that is who it is..) I noticed Cam standing on the hill and took off running towards him like a star-struck teenager (holding a baby, of course!). I asked him for a picture and he flashed his toothy grin at me and said, "I'm sorry, I can't." At that point the State Troopers that were escorting him said, "We've got to get him out of here" and quickly took him to a truck and they had to drive him away. I wasn't thinking at the time- I could have had a wonderful picture of him- and had I given Karin the camera Janie Ann (I) could have had her (my) picture with Cam! But I wasn't thinking and so I got a nice shot of him leaving! I also saw some of my football players that I worked with at the athletic complex and had a picture with them- hard to believe that they will be graduating in December/May!

Family Pictures and Happy Thanksgiving!

Yes- everyone was looking and semi-happy EXCEPT Janie Ann (and Georgia who wanted me :) who wanted her Aunt Shelly!! Hopefully after looking through all the pictures we can find at least ONE to frame of the entire family!!

Now- on to Thanksgiving. What am I thankful for this year? A LOT! I'm thankful for my husband and daughter who I enjoy spending time with and couldn't imagine my life without them. I'm thankful that we decided to move home before having Janie Ann b/c now she gets to spend her days with MeMaw and her cousins and my dad gets to take her to MeMaw's so that they have time together every morning. I'm thankful for my dad, mom, grandparents and brother. I enjoy watching each of them interact with Janie Ann-cherishing every moment we spend together. I'm thankful for Sunday's- first thing- breakfast from Hardee's almost every Sunday, second- Church- I'm thankful that I love my church, church family and preacher! Not too many have the privilege of saying that and truly meaning it! Third- Sunday lunch with the Clark family. Fourth- Sunday dinner with my dad and Papaw. I'm thankful for Skype and technology- that way my mom can see Janie Ann and we can talk with her! I'm thankful for my health and my family's health- and health insurance! I'm thankful for my job- I truly do love my job. I'm thankful for my brother- known as Uncle Stick! Not only am I thankful for him and everything he does for me, Seth and Janie Ann- I'm proud of who he has become. He is about to graduate from Auburn University top in his class in accounting. He has an internship this summer with a top accounting group in B'ham and he currently applying to go back to get his master's so that he can sit on the CPA test. I am thankful for so much more- friends, veterans and troops serving, but most importantly- I'm thankful that God sent His son to die for me and my family and because of that I am able to celebrate another Thanksgiving day.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving Holiday- and while I won't be out (I think) on Black Friday- everyone that does- ENJOY! I will update later with pictures from Thanksgiving day!!

Update

This post will be boring- just an update on life.

First- Janie Ann went to her 1 year appointment last Thursday! She weighed 22 lbs and 13 oz. and was 30 inches long!! Happy and healthy! It is still hard for me to believe she is 1!! I promise to upload some video's to the blog soon- I have a bunch of cute ones, just don't have time to sit down and do it- she is EVERYWHERE and we constantly have to watch her. Her newest past-time? CLIMBING! She LOVES to climb on anything or everything! Her favorite thing to climb on at our house? A rocking chair in her bedroom! Not safe at all, but her favorite! 2 Saturday's ago Mrs. Lisa Neece came out to our house and took some family pictures and she was placed in the rocking chair for some of those pictures and so know she thinks it is ok to climb in whenever she wants too! I will upload some of those pictures once I receive the CD!

Second- I had to have surgery last Thursday- outpatient, wasn't bad. I had to have a hernia repaired. (yes, I thought only babies and old men got them, too!) The surgery wasn't bad, but I am not allowed to pick Janie Ann up- not sure how long, I go back to the doctor on Friday (if not sooner). I took Friday and today off work- I go back tomorrow- not really looking forward to that! But I'm thankful that it was a simple procedure and that I am able to go back to work in such a short period of time!

Third- THANKSGIVING is next week!! I'm super excited- it has to be my favorite time of the year! The food and family is wonderful and it is also a break from school! :)

Such a quick trip...

One week ago today we (Janie Ann, Aunt Steph, my papaw Goss and mom) loaded up in the Honda van and headed to ATL to take my mom to stay in a hotel so that she could catch her early flight and no one would be responsible for waking up at 3 or 4 am and getting her over there in time. While I would have loved for her to stay with us ONE more night, it just wasn't do-able. So, at 5:30 we were pulling out of the mall parking lot in Auburn headed to ATL. We made pretty good time getting over there and we were able to eat a nice little dinner before looking for the hotel. My aunt DOES NOT have a GPS (yes, this blows my mind!) so we had a hotel for my mom, we had an address, but that was it! Thank goodness before my mom left for CA she upgraded her phone to a smartphone that has a googlemaps application on it! We found the hotel (after being lost for a little while) and we got her unloaded and checked in before we headed back to Auburn/Daviston. This was EXTREMELY hard for me to do- saying Goodbye again, not knowing when she would be back home! Of course, I had my camera and I took a few pictures of Gigi and Janie Ann.

I sure do miss my mom, but it meant a whole lot for her to be home for Janie Ann's 1st birthday. I can't wait until she returns home for Christmas (and then when she returns a LITTLE closer to home- at least to the East Coast to work somewhere!)!! We love you Gigi- hurry back!!

Happy Halloween....a little late!

This year was Janie Ann's 2nd Halloween to celebrate! The first one she was 1 day old in the hospital at EAMC (pictured below). It is so hard for me to believe that she is 1 now!! Anyways- we celebrated a couple of times so that we could put our penguin outfit to good use! The first time we wore it was to go Trick or Treating with the Daughtry's! Those boys LOVE Janie Ann and she thinks they are pretty awesome, too!

Every year Rocky Creek puts on a Trick or Trunk event. This year Seth and Sheena were part of the committee putting it on- we started off the night with some hot dogs, chips and drinks- then the kids got to go around to every one's trunks and play games, get some treats or both! It is a fun, safe event that the entire family can enjoy. Much better than driving from house to house (or walking like I used to do!).

Janie Ann turned ONE on October 30! Where did the time go?!? We were able to celebrate on her actual birthday with tons of friends and family!! My mom flew in from California and was able to stay and celebrate with us. It was a beautiful day- pretty cool that morning, but warmed up nicely by 4:00- when the party started.
